My PC just freezes for about 20-30 seconds.
This happens around 10-12 times in 1 hr.

& mostly happens while watching a video or playing music

i Dont know why is this happening.
i Tried running hD Sentinal Pro, to check for errors, but it said hdd is perfect.

My Config is :
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T @ 2.8GhZ {6 Cores}
6GB DDR3
Gigabyte 880GM-UD2h {inbuilt Graphic Card}
1TB WD BLACK
450W SMPS

Can anyone pls guide me what is happening here ?

it seems to be okay.. the temps are spot on.

but that PSU is $hit. Change it asap.
get an Antec VP450/Corsair GS500 etc.

corsair CX430/500V2 is also okay, but there have more failure recently.

hmm.. do an HDD scan with good s/w [HD Tune or something..]

Could u recommend some good softies ?

coz i already did it with hD Sentinel Pro

While playing a video, i noticed something strange.

i played the video & kept open Resource Monitor.

So when the video freezed {everything else also freezed, just open apps worked.}
i Switched to Resource Monitor & saw :
Disk I/O - 0B/s
Disk Activity TIme - 100%

but memory & CPU Tabs were working normally

& all the processes accessing disk gradually were being deleted from the memory, until video started playing again.
At that time the Disk I/O was also giving speeds & DiskActivity was also around 50-60%.

This thing happened every 20 seconds.

you are using win 7 or win 8 with some sort of visual tweaks ? faced similar issue with win 8 and to fix this disabled some disk and network related unnecessary services.

BTW, your HDD temp is too high.

first thing u shold always try is formating....or uninstall any software which u have installed recently ...

check ur task manager which application is slowing down ur pc ....end that

if i play the same video from PenDrive, then it plays smoothly.
No hiccups, no freeze nothing.
But if i play it from HDD, now video freezes after 10 secs

The freeze time is getting longer day by day & play time is getting shorter

Replace the PSU.

So u think my PSU is unable to supply proper power ?to my HDD ?
So why just video ?

:facepalm: formatting is the ultimate step you can take. it should be the last thing on your list.

Get Hard Disk Sentinel and post the screenshot here.

@OP: keep hwinfo running in the background and enable its sensors. then use HD Sentinel/HD tune. take screenshots of each utility and post it here.
