The Klite codec along with Media player classic was bundled with the DIGIT CD & DVD they can just about play any format even if the file is partially corrupt.

how to find out the codecs needed for playing an avi file?
is there any tool?
GSpot examines file and tells u the codec info, and there's another tool called Sherlock The Codec Detective to find which codecs are installed in ur computer and which codecs are broken.
