Dark Overlord !!!
Actually, there is nothing to get WOWed about this except for the engineering/design that is involved in the housing of desktop-grade components in a laptop enclosure and yet make them perform... this is only meant for consumers needing workstation/desktop class performance but need to be on the move constantly and hence a full blown desktop will be a major hindrance.... so maybe at full power, the 12-cell bat might last less than half an hour and weight 11 lbs, but it is still more mobile compared to a corresponding desktop...... so if you do not belong to this category of consumers, either get the desktop version for way way less bucks or wait until the laptop counterparts of these components are released at the end of this year.....8)

It would is the most powerful laptop till date though it's not released yet.e most the powerful laptop till date.

Just a wild guess - But it will not remain as the most powerful lappy till may 2009.

but one thing - the heat that it will produce is going to be a lot coz core i7 models tdp is 130W & leave alone that 9800GTX.

And yes the battery power will be less coz of that powerful or power hungry CPU & gpu.

Waiting for laptop based on phenom 2 & HD5xxx in crossfire with 1TB solid state drive :p

And think abt the battery life ?? i mean the time it will run on battery power.. today,

currently
DELL's "the BEAST" a.k.a XPS M1730 runs for jus 1Hour wen gaming on it, in full screen brightness and all the eye candy (of the lappy) swithed ON.. (like the Speakers and its LEDs)... :(

Ya. They will drain battery power & produce heat like hell.
So I think their durability & running cost will be a issue.

This things are mainly some show piece rather than some useful latop coz avid gamers invest & like to play in more powerful desktop rigs which gives them more flexibility compared to laptop. They can use good aftermarket coolers, OC like hell, use better ventilated cabbys & etc.
