hey guys i need some help...
when i boot up my pc it says "CMOS checksum error.defaults loaded. press F1 to continue and DEL to enter setup". i press F1 and it boots normally.
what does the error mean and how serious is it?

Could be that the battery on your motherboard is dead. It may also be a bad connection of the battery. Take the battery out then re seat it.

Or possibly something in the BIOS has become corrupted. Pick the "Del" option next time you reboot and see if there's a "restore defaults" option.

A checksum is computed as an error detecting code to protect the BIOS settings stored in the CMOS memory. The most common cause of checksum error in CMOS is a battery that is losing power. You need to replace the battery with a new one. You should be able to get it from most consumer electronics/ computer retailers. It is very simple to replace.

@ callmeastha : IT can also happen in case of inappropriate jumper settings. Please check it also dude. :D :D
