CEH after B.Tech! Help!

I'm really interested in getting CEH certification and have finished B.Tech waiting for results.

Now I don't have any other networking knowledge or certification! I'm looking to get this as personal souvenir rather for a job now!

this exam is costly around 500$, so does anyone suggest any other options to consider before trying for the CEH certification?

I went to a few centers they suggested me doing CCNA or Microsoft or Linux Networking Certification! Whats your suggestions people?
I'm currently looking at my job offer letter and expected joining date around August. So have a solid 2 months to spend.

Now i am considering to do CompTIA Security+, 159USD for india, which is a good price i suppose..

Get yourself CCENT & CCNA-Security certified.
Cost: $150+ $250.
Way better than CEH & CompTIA Sec+.
