I have a samsung CD Writer When i write a cd with it using nero or any other burning software the software writes the cd normaly but when it's done and i put the cd back in it says it's a blank cd

There is nothing wrong with my drive because i took it too my friends house and it worked fine there.

i use WinXP SP2.

Secondly i have a external Iomega writer which when i connect to my laptop using a printer cable is detected fine but when i connect to my desktop it says unknown device

Thanks in advance

I use nero 6.6 i guess that should'nt be a problem above which no other cd writing software works but the drive works for sure because it worked in my friends system

Nokia 7110 to iPhone 5
in the compilation info.....(from the file menu)
see the tab "burn" make sure that the field "Write" is checked.

also,

in the main window press ctrl + R to open "choose Recorder" window.
now, make sure that your writer's name is in the list, and highlighted.

i think this should solve the problem.
