cd can't autorun in xp

Right off the assembly line
my writer can't autorun any cd. please help me , i chaque all properties of cdwriter . i have benq 52x writer

my computer > right click > click on properties > hardware > device manager > under IDE / ATAPI controllers > double click on primary IDE channel > advanced settings
nd select under both the devices > "DMA if available"

do the above for secondry IDE channel too ..

ALTERNATIVELY >>>>

right click on ur cd writer in my computer > go to properties > go to the second tab > autoplay > select "prompt me each time ...... "

Adding to what grinning_devil wrote.

If you have installed the AutoPatcher
(the latest version also came in May DVD)

you can use TweakUIXP

it is in control panel, open it

then expand My Computer, go to Auto Play

and set specific req. setting for each type.

Glad you are using XP. Try Downloading the Autoplay Repair Wizard
AutoFix.exe
and run it and it would make the CD's autorun. Will check the every setting Hardware detection, the drive to be verified, the admin policies, the registry settings and try to correct it. I personally tried it and recommend U.
