Can't download from any P2P software

hi guys,
I have a 54Mbps wireless network connection based in Singapore from Starhub (the service provider). I get results in Shareaza but any download does not start. Ares does not connect at all..
Probably some firewall settings from the provider. It would be great if someone could tell me how to overide them. Please help!!

ARES got a new version. Download that, there wont be any issues with connectivity.


AFAIK your ISP can't do anything abt the firewall settings. All that they can do is block some ports so that you cant d/l. You can bypass the firewall (in your system), there is a tut for this purpose, search at the tuts section.

its not a 54mbps connection.

thats the speed of the wireless network. the internet connection is diff.

try changing the ports in the p2p software.

might be ur ISP blocked ur PORTS many Cable net Providers have done tat, thanks goodness i dont suffer tat..

you are connected on a lan basis - ur ports are blocked as it is a lan connection.. your isp can help u in that but i think they cannot allow !

I think i have the same problem......

I got a BSNL Adsl connection and the problem is same i can see download results in shareaaza but cant download. and ares does not connect..

first i thought it was firewall problem, so i unistalled it, but still it doesnt work.

did any of u try changing the port number 2 b used from d p2p software??
