is amd athlon ii x4 645 is better in gaming than in playing games like gta 4 or intel i3 2100

Sir but i only need smps,cabinet,processor,motherboard,graphics card.it should be in a way such that it can run gta 4 and sims 3.all for 20k.thanks in advance.

@Abhjeet, take d3p's first config. remove monitor and UPS. get Phenom II 960T and HD7770 (or HD7750 if exceeds budget).

for gaming i3 2100 is better but Athlon II X4 is discontinued. so go for Phenom II X4 which matches core i3 in gaming and is better in multitasking.

@ the_conqueror,
XMS3 with SB processors would cause incompatibility issues as they have voltage difference. The normal Value RAM is sufficient.
CX-430 is not available now. Its now replaced by a revised version i.e CX-430v2 and it costs around 2.4k not 3k. Do check the prices again.
OP also wants a monitor in his budget.

Here is my suggestion:
* AMD Athlon-II X4-640 -- 4.3k
* Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P -- 2.6k
* Corsair 4GB DDR3 Value RAM -- 1.2k
* CM Elite 310 -- 1.5k
* Corsair CX-430v2 -- 2.3k

Else replace monitor with DELL IN1930M, save 1k and use it to get HD 5670 1GB DDR5 for 4.5k.

no cache....? who said??? it has L3 cache...

he is talking about Athlon II X4. it doesn't have L3 cache.

BTW remember, Phenom II & Athlon II both can be overclocked almost same. Athlon II can be overclocked by 500Mhz whereas 800Mhz can be added the base clock of Phenom II if sufficient cooling can be provided. Core i3 (or nonK i5, i7) can't be overclocked at all.

avoid CM extreme power plus PSU at all cost.if possible avoid CM PSUs and buy corsair cx430 or FSP saga II 500W.btw buy 6670 GDDR5 rather than DDR3.DDr3 will be slower than GDDR5.

Yes, DDR5 cards have almost twice bandwidth than that of DDR3 cards.
For PSU take FSP SAGA-II 500 or Corsair CX-430v2. Both will cost around 2.3k. Seasonic S12II-430 for 2.6k is also a great option.

a few things to remember building a system:
1. for AMD, try not to mix a highend processor with an elcheapo motherboard. so no to that Gigabyte. grab 880GM-UD2H or USB3.
2. don't go for GDDR3 version of graphics card if GDDR5 is available for little more. pay extra and performance will be worth it. Try getting HD7750.
3. avoid Extreme Power. Its not so extreme. Go for Corsair CX430W. you get 1yr extra warranty and much better service.

if you are buying locally, try to check for Athlon II X3 or X4. But its no longer available online.

else go for Pentrium G620 and after 2-3yrs, change it to the fastest Ivy Bridge processor available. without changing motherboard.
