1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
>1.Softwares like Maya , Xilinx, Photoshop Suite , Flash ,PlayStaion Emulators , Xbox Emulators , Speech To Text Softwares like Dragon etc
>2.Games (All Latest Games and all the games which are coming in the next few years) Crysis Series , Mass effect , Metro , Elder Scrolls Series , Tom Clancy Series , Batman Series , NFS Series etc
in above normal (preferably the highest) Graphics settings without lag of any kind
PS i play almost all latest games and get them as soon as i can afford.

>3.High End Sound Editing Softwares like Adobe Sound Booth , Sound Forge , etc

>4.Plus a little Movies, Music and General Entertainment
***************************************************************************************************
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:
this is where it gets quirky :my estimate is about 90k more or less . (But if the component is future proof enough i can extend it to 1 lac)
***************************************************************************************************
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:
Oh Yeah , but not too extreme , within safe levels
i havent done on any thing yet , and the last time i tried i ended up frying my MOB
***************************************************************************************************
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:
Windows 7 , Windows XP SP3 ,Fedora Linux

MULTI BOOT
***************************************************************************************************
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:
2 x 1TB + a small capacity (Cheap) SSD for SSD Caching
***************************************************************************************************
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:
Yes - 23" to 27" ,
IPS LED
Very Low Response time + No Ghosting
Here i have a question!
Should i consider getting a 3D Monitor or not , i mean is it really that good = 2D to 3d conversion of movies , Gaming in 3D
PS i cannot download 3d Movies as they are very big in size
***************************************************************************************************
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you alreaDy to u have and plan on reusing?
Ans:
Speakers
***************************************************************************************************
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:
within 1 month
***************************************************************************************************
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:
No but i can assemble , if i cant i will call up a technician to help me
***************************************************************************************************
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Kolkata
Where ever i can get the parts from : local or online shop
where ever i can get the best price deal
***************************************************************************************************
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

Yes i am planning to use my old Monitor for a while and then buy a Monitor so Monitor can wait 2 - 5 Months but the rest of the Computer i need within a month!

SO Folks Suggest me a Computer Spec

What I am thinking ?
i am thinking = Z77 + i7 + 8GB + 2 TB + 2GB GPU + 650 or 700 PSU +....... well a Monitor:twisted:

Nice config. Like the 670 part :p
Add a CM Hyper 212 EVO for 2.1k here

Cant we use a 2600k? The difference isnt quite noticeable for 4k extra.

Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Western Digital Green 2TB

You could opt for the 2600k and a single 2tb hdd, save some cash and take a
Corsair Force 3 120 GB SSD

Processor: Intel i7 2600k @17k
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77 V @ 15.5k
RAM: G-skill RipjawsX 2x4 GB 1600 MHz @ 3.4k
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TBx2 @ 10.4k
SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 120 GB SSD @7.5k
PSU: Corsair HX650 @6.9k
Optical Drive : Asus DRW-24B3ST - 1k
Case: Corsair carbide 400R @4.5k
Mouse&KB: Logitech MK200@0.7k or Razer Cyclosa Bundle - 2.5k
Graphic Card :Asus Radeon HD7970 DCII @ 37K
Total=~105k or 106.7k

Unless you want to use the improved quick sync of ivy bridge there
is no reason to go for i7 3770k over i7 2600k as performance difference between them is
negligible(~5%).Moreover i7 2600k overclocks better and costs lesser.

As your workload includes Maya,it is better to go with radeon 7970 as it is much faster in viewports compared to geforce cards.
Moreover Photoshop benefits from OpenCL and OpenGL implementation which are well supported by radeons.
In photoshop older version cuda works well though. Overall for compute oriented tasks radeon hd 7970 is much faster than a gtx680.
Also with newer drivers there is a significant performance gap between hd7970 and gtx670 in gaming.

Asus P8Z77 V is a good motherboard and also has built in wifi chip.
Upgrade the firmware of the SSD if you get it.
Corsair HX650 is a modular psu, would be better for cable management.

For IPS monitor Asus PA238Q@17k and Dell UltraSharp U2311H@14k are good options
Asus PA238Q has a response time of 6ms while U2311H has a response time of 8ms.
