I have a 6yrs old P-3 866MHz, 128 x 2 SDRAM, GeForceFX5200 PCI graphic card on
i810e Kranion motherboard with a 20GB Seagate HDD.
Since 10 days all the OS's (WinXP-Pro, Fedora 7& Suse10.3) stop booting at random
stages.
The monitor light goes orange i.e no video feed.
Is this HDD problem ? After OS boots no problems.
Is this RAM problem ? I tried memtest86...test2 Pass.
Is this Powersupply problem.
It has to be hardware as different OS are involved.
Help!!
Suggestions!!

Why RAM ?
My PC boots sometimes.
Once it boots it keeps on working.
This is a boot time problem only.
During a greyout my daughter had repeatedly
cold booted PC. I think some vital HDD space has
been damaged.
I am going to get new HDD.

Do you hear some beeps at startUp???

If yes...count all small + long beeps.

I get just 1 beep....OS starts to load and inbetween monitor
light goes yellow.
This happens randomly in the boot process of all OS.
No Beeps or I would have thought of defective RAM.
regards,
Ranjit.
