Boot from old hdd from new mboard

I have built a new pc:
Mboard- asus m4a-88t-m
Proccy - amd Athlon x2 260
Ram- corsair vengenance 4gb
Asus 24b3st DVD r/w drive
Onboard graphics.

I am trying to boot from an 160 gb seagate hdd from my new build.
I have already installed windows xp and 7 in two different partitions of my hdd.
Now I want to boot into my hdd or either make a clean install of windows 7 64 bit in that partition where I had installed my windows 7.

But when i try to boot into any xp or 7 it goes till the loading screen and restarts. What should I do now?

Dont's:

I dont want to format my complete hdd
I don't want to go back to my old mboard

The MBR is corrupted I guess. Try doing a repair install from your Windows 7/XP CD/DVD.

@ OP - make sure your cpu is not OCed, test the ram modules using memtest86+ app and check the HDD for bad sectors.
