need to know if if there is a good bluetooth receiver
and also is there a loss in quality while using a bluetooth receiver with speakers as compared to a bluetooth speaker set

yes, there will be a loss in quality in both cases- if you use an A2DP bluetooth stereo receiver or bluetooth speakers . Plus, if you play videos, there will be a lag of few seconds, so the audio will trail the video by lets say, 1-2 secs.

I have the same problem and I use long (really long) wires to connect my Edifier S530 to my laptop.

Solution: Spend a good 7-8k and get Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Notebook with its receiver, or Linksys Wireless G Music Bridge.
