What about galaxy Y ? Is it good ? Friend is inclined towards Samsung so he is insisting on Galaxy Y. And what about galaxy R for 19k ?

Explorer is much better than Galaxy Y, have a look at both of them and then you will get to know.
And Galaxy R is nowhere available and if you get it somewhere also you won't get it for 19k, it will priced around 22k

less ram. poor camera. QVGA screen. oh small screen. bad battery backup. slow processor. and lastly cost 1k less. meaningless to choose Y over Explorer.
