what exactly do you mean by 2x pci-e?
is it two pci-ex16 slots or pci-ex16 v2.x?

if it's the former then go for gigabyte ga-880ga-ud3h @5.5k. (overshoots your max 5.3k budget by 200 bucks but it has two pci-ex16 slots)

if it's the latter then go for gigabyte ga-880gm-ud2h @4.3k.

actually gauray 880ga ud3h doeant have second slot for crossfire. it doesnt support it. it can be used for other peripherals though.

@op will you crossfire? if yes look at that ecs mobo(forgot name), ask cilus. its for 4.2k. otherwise Gigabyte GA 880GA UD3H at 5.5k is worth it.

oho. that's why it was written that the second x16 slot will operate at x4 speeds. :oops::oops:

well if he doesn't cf then is there a need for 880ga instead of cheaper 880gm mobo?

Its ECS A885GM-A2 and its priced at 4.3k. Its an ATX board and supports crossfire. Great board for the price. Layout is very good.

@gaurav. not necessary.
even the ecs suppports second card at x4 mode. performance difference is very less between x16 x16 and x8 x8 and the x16 x4 one. cilus posted about it. it was toms hardware review. difference was very less.

HEY WAIT GUYS. check ECS site guys here - ECS Web Site
it supports only Hybrid CFx.

The ECS board support Crossfire. If you have 2 PCI Express X16 slot, then it will always support multi-GPU. There is no need to mention explicitly that this board support Corsfire. If you check the specification of the ECS board, then you will find that if two Cards are used, then the 2nd one will run at X4 speed.

Now one bad news...I bought the last ECS board from bitfang.Com. right now they don't have the board with them...probably if you order they will get it from some other retailer. So the price is now jumped to 4.6K + shipping

In case of crossfire - Yes.

But not every dual PCIe board supports SLI.
