Right off the assembly line
I want to upgrade my PC.Should I go for Athlon X2 / C2D?

I want an xplanation of one thing.Athlon X2 4000+ means there will be 2 processors each of 2.0ghz.Right?

But an intel 3.0 ghz means 2 proc of 1.5 each or 2 proc of 3.0 each?

AMD X2 4000+ = 2 cores, each of 2.0 ghz.
INtel C2D 2.4GHz = 2 cores, each of 2.4 GHz
INTel Dual core = dont even look at them, they are not worth buying if youre looking for performance.

If u are low on budget, get X2. That is X2 is better for budget of 7~8k for mobo + proccy. Ull also get decent onboard gfx like nvidia 6100 or ATI X1250.
X2 4000+ costs only 2.7k.And decent mobo like M2N MX SE costs only 2.8k.
So for 8k, one can get
AMD X2 4800+: 4.6k
Asus M2A VM: 3.2k

C2D are better for mid!high end systems. If u haf budget of 10k+ for proccy + mobo, then get C2D.
E6550 and E6750 has gr8 performance for da price. But u need a gu mobo for it.
