@ OP - Moreover dude you haven't mentioned about the monitor size.Can you please fill the questionnaire.
Its very difficult to fit in a Phenom II X4 with a USB3 MoBo within a a budget of 17k(including monitor,UPS).Either you gotta increase your budget or go with Athlon II X4 or X3.

If you don't want the config for gaming then how does 4MB of L3 cache make a difference to you?

ssb AFAIK gaming doesnt benefit from more l3 cache.

AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 6.1k
Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H @ 5k [has USB 3.0 and SATA3 6gbps]
2*2GB Kingston/Gskill/Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM @ 2.8k [avoid Transcend]
1TB Seagate 7200.12 or WD Caviar Black Hard Disk @ 2.8k

Total = 16.7k

Lastly, you need PSU.

Seasonic S12II 430w @ 3.3k [a good PSU is needed so that you can add a decent graphic card in future. Avoid Cooler Master PSUs. They are crap.]

get Athlon II X4 630-635.
Gigabyte GA-MA88GMA-UD2H
2Gb DDR3 from Corsair.
1Tb WDC Blue
NZXT guardian 921 (your choice)
Corsair CX430W or FSP Saga II 500W.

i haven't calculated but the total cost will be within your budget.

or ignore this config if you have a better config in your mind & please let us know what difference 6Mb L3 cache makes when you are not gaming. are you for some rendering or threaded apps?

Sam its nothing like seasonic 430 over corsair. Corsair cx400w makes a better buy IMO at lower price. Its that cx430 can deliver 430w at 30C temp only. Its got lower rating on 12v+ rail than cx400w. Cx400w can deliver 400w and above at 40C above temp also.

thats really confusing. well OP can get Athlon II X4 with a good motherboard (890GX) if he settles for Corsair CX400W.

who mentioned about CM PSUs?

thank u ppl...is der any other psu which is gud enough .but under 2k?

under 2k, you can have FSP saga II 350-400W but if the PSU placement in the cabby you mentioned is at the bottom (which i think is), don't get FSP PSUs. their 12V EPS cable is short & you'll end up buying a 12V extender.

@Sam
let me compare clearly -

1. cx400w - can give >=400w at 45C above temp also.
2. cx430w - can give 430w at 30C temp only.

also cx400w got higher amps on 12v+ than cx430w.

but guys, the new corsair site doesn't have cx series listed!!:shock::shock:

@aman_nike
if this config is for watching movies on your 32" or higher sony bravia, i will suggest this -

AMD Athlon II x3 440 @ 3.4k
Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H @ 4.5k
Corsair VS2GB1333D3 2GB @ 1.2k
Sapphire HD5570 1GB GDDR3 @ 3.5k
Seagate 1TB 7200.12 @ 2.8k
Corsair CX400W @ 2.6k

Total - 18k
