Airtel hikes Mobile Office prices!

I hav used Airtel GPRS b4 shifting to BSNL. BSNL GPRS connects immediately n their service is hardly down. Thr r no issues opening sites like orkut or odr sites whr Airtel suffers. Evn 4 downloading from rapidshare, BSNL is bettr.

BSNL provides EDGE. I dunno abt prepaid GPRS but for Postpaid it is Rs.199pm.

I wud rate BSNL Speed bettr den Airtel (wit Airtel I got speed newhr between 3KBpb - 13KBps. But wit BSNL it is always arnd or above 5KBps upto 14KBps.

D only downside of BSNL is their Customer care. If u hav a prb., u SHUD go 2 d BSNL office of ur area n get ur prb solved.

In Chennai,there is no change in Airtel MO rates:

1)Rs20/day for unlimited browsing

2)Rs75/week for unlimited browsing

1) & 2) are applicable to all Airtel prepaid customers including 'Lifetime' prepaid,

3) Rs.375 special recharge with 0 talktime and unlimited GPRS with 30days validity: Applicable to all prepaid except 'Lifetime".

So,it is already expensive in Chennai ! hence there is no change!!

and which extra ordinary mobile u have which provides that speed in kilo bytes.....????

and dude when it was 7 than doubling the rate is not justified...even the earlier highest would had been ok but this is almost looting now..unless they provide 256kbps on internet which isnt possible on edge.....u need 3G

Where do you stay??? Another country?? How it is possible that you get "160KBps" speed in India? Even with 3G technology it is very rare. But "160 kbps" or "20KBps" is possible with very good handset, and I think even to achieve this speed EDGE is required.

Go for Tata indicom if you want better speed. On airtel I got average speed of 20-30kbps and maximum of 50kbps. On tata average is 60kbps and maximum speed touches 140kbps

I use NOP.
U replied me earlier that NOP has probs with some phones,then why it doen't display properly on pc opera?

It is Net on phone.A wap service offered by Airtel at Rs.2/day.
U can browse wap sites via it.As always you can use opera mini or opera mobile to browse regular pc sites on NOP.

Yes you can use NOP on pc.Here how to do it:

1. Create a dial up connection on PC n select nokia xxxx(phone model number) usb modem n set dial up no. as *99# n leave password n username blank

2. Go to control panel, click on phone n modem options, then select modem tab, then double click on nokia usb modem which we used in dialer above, now that will show modem properties, click on advanced tab n type AT+CGDCONT=,"IP","airtelwap.com" <cr> under extra initialization box, cliclk on ok.

3. Now open IE's internet options, select connections n then select dialer which we made in step 1 n then click on settings tab next to that n enter 100.1.200.99 in proxy n 8080 in port n select use proxy click on ok.

4. Now connect your phone to PC through data cable n then double click on above dialer n then click on dial n you would be connected to internet. Now open IE n start surfing ENJOY......
