Advice required on PC upgrade..

Hello guys,
I am new in this amazing forum(though I keep track of interesting posts when I get time). I am Kuntal, a 3rd year engg student from near Kolkata. I am particularly interested in GNU/Linux, programming and music,football,badminton and am a hardcore FC Barcelona supporter Though I keep track of new technologies and products, I don't know much about availalbility an market price.

I have an old Compaq Presario-1130il desktop, bought long back in 2004 It ran fine for so many years, but recently started showing pre-death symptoms,also it can't play HD movies. So, its a perfect excuse for me to upgrade I want to get rid of MOBO,CPU,PSU,HDD and RAM.

I need the following components:
1> CPU (preferably SB i5-2400 and i5-2500, not k-series, cause i'm not a gamer or overclocker).
2> MoBo (preferably MSI or Gigabyte)
3> RAM
4> HDD(don't need more than 500GB)
5> PSU (preferably corsair)
6> DVD writer

Compaq keyboard and mouse which I have, are superb and I don't need to change them. Cabinet is also ok. Of the above components, I am flexible with with everything except CPU.

My requirement is decent: programming,music, and occasional movies(should play HD files).
Budget: 25k( flexible, can be upped some more, if needed)

Motherboard and PSU are my main concern. They should be reliable, worry-free and long lasting. I dug up following mobos, are they good enough? Are these available in kolkata? What about price?

Just one concern, my existing monitor has only vga port, no hdmi, no dvi and intel DH67BL doesn't have any vga port. Is it possible to connect my monitor to DH67BL? I mean, is there any hdmi-to-vga or dvi-to-vga converter or something? If not, monitor will not be usable and I am unwilling to get a new monitor. what do you say?
Will SB i5-2400 need custom cooler?
Another thing, are those components(SB-i5-2400,dh67bl,corsair-cx450) readily available in Kolkata? And the prices you given, are those including VAT?

Get Nzxt Gamma cabby if avail(2.1K), has good cable management than CM430...

I think "MSI M67-e35" is a typo, it should be H67

H67 is not advisable as 2500k is oc capable go for msi z68 based they are cost effective. More 2k is worth investing buddy

i am not going to OC d pc but my plan is to get GPU after 2 months that why putting some money for Intel HD 3000 now .

you r told me that Z68 board are good but can you plz give me couple of mobo price of that sort [z68] pref ( Gigabyte ) ???

i thought they may me expensive.

my budget for mobo is not more than 7.5k.
If in that case should is go for H67 ??

@swapnilbunty123 1.You should start a new thread for your own problems.
2.Do you have the 2500k proccy with you?
3.If yes then definitely buy a Z68 board as 2500k is capable of overclocking and is unlocked which requires a z68 / p67 motherboard to overclock.
4.If you havent stil bought it buy the following
Core i5 2400 @10.5k
Intel DH67BL @5.5k

Go for i5-2400+intel H67 mobo... That will serve your purpose.
