May be your other drives are formatted with ntfs for which write access is disabled by default.

Check your partitions are ntfs or fat ??? .... If it is ntfs you have to install ntfs-3g driver..After installation,go to disk partitions.......in mount options you can tick read and right access for your drive partitions....just check these links... *help.ubuntu.com/community/MountingWindowsPartitions/ThirdPartyNTFS3G ........*ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=217009.....
