This Rig is for a friend of mine. I will be helping him build it.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming.
Games like Assassins Creed 3, BF3, COD, NFS MW 2012, Crysis 3, Skyrim

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 55k INR. A little flexible, if its really going to make a difference of more than 10fps

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Processor, no.
GPU, yes (factory-overclocked would be preferable)

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7 64bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500GB min. No ssd

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes, full hd reqd. Looking at the Dell ST2220L. Is it a good choice? open for suggestions

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: None

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Before month end.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I will be assembling for my friend

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Open to buying online from primeabgb, theitwares and flipkart. Live in Mumbai so local purchases will be done @ Lamington rd.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Did a rough calculation, the budget should allow for around 16.5k for a GPU. I would like him to go for a 7850 2GB minimum. If its possible to squeeze in a 7870 that would be great. Other GPU suggestions are welcome.
for psu I was thinking about the seasonic S12 520W. He doesnt need an very expensive cabinet(around 2-2.5k), he wants the maximum performance.

G-skill RipjawX 4GB X 2 1600 MHz CL9 kit is available at 3K, not 6K.
2ndly, The price of HD 7870 I have posted in the thread Gaming Rig for around 130K, I have clearly mentioned that that is the local Kolkata price from a Shop named Vedant and they don't have any Online sites. That can only be done by calling them and if they're willing to ship it.

Ohh thought they'd courier it or something. Sorry, didn't read the thread, just the bolded part.
Then drop down to a 7850 2GB or 660.

And the RAM, got confused with 2 x 8GB, I'll edit it.

Thanks Cilus, Jassy and Akash for your suggestions. Speakers will not be needed, he will be using his old headphones.

For PSU, Would it be ok to go with Seasonic S12 520W? what is its current price? I believe it should be cheaper than GS600.
My friend will never be going for multi-GPU config and he needs this PC only for 2 years max.
I was hoping fit the 7870 in his budget, what would be the price? I saw it online for 23k/-, that would make it over-budget. Is it available for under 20k anywhere?
If not then Im thinking of asking him to get the 660. It performs close to the 7870 and can be overclocked also. Which factory overclocked version of the 660 is the best and what would be the approx. cost? Also will the choking mem bandwidth of the 660 be an issue at 1080p? I don't think it should be but just confirming.
Thanks guys :)
