and i really doubt HD3000 will score 5.9 (one scored 5.8, other scores 5.9).it has to be the HDD. both laptop ships with HD6770M.

3D or Aero ? HD3000 on my lappi scores 5.9 (aero) & 6.4 in 3D.

But again, we should don't care about WEI.

thats strange. both uses Toshiba MK6465GSX. size shouldn't affect performance. this is why i (& almost everyone else here) don't trust WEI score.

The same speed but different capacities mean different densities on the platter. SO the performance of larger HDD's is slightly better than their smaller cousins for a given RPM. Or thats what i read somewhere.

^^correct.the denser a hard disk platter is,the faster it can be read and accessed sequentially.
