Thanks for the information. I belived that to edit the data you need to be member. But it turns out that it is not needed. But how can you know which are protected/semi-protected topics? By trying to edit it????

I see right through you.
It usually says that at the top. Something like "This is a sensitive issue and is not available for editing except for members." or words to that effect. I think the Harry Potter 7 article was like that for a while.

Yes, a current example would be:

Look at the bottom of the image for the warning.
