11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

This is what I have decided upon

AMD FX-835012k will this be enough future proof ?
ASUS M5A977k can I afford to downgrade?
1X4 GB ram2.5k
HD7950 3GB Boost25kplan to add another card in a year or two
will it be betr to use nvidia card (sli vs crossfire, driver support) ?
1 TB HD @7200 rpm4k no SSD
PSU what wattage will I need (keeping sli\crossfire in mind)?
Corsair Carbide 200R 3.5k suggest some alternatives (if this is not available)

I can see with the PSU price added the price will reach around 60k but hopefully I can get some deals :)

PS: Do I need an extra cooling system/ extra fans?
PPS: Any other suggestions ?

Your current monitor does not suport full HD resolutions. I suggest you to sell your current monitor. this will fetch additional 4k.

You can go for i5-4670 and Zotac NVIDIA GTX 760 easily as in harshil's suggetion you dont need KB/M and ODD so you have few extra "K"

Add another 760 Later, SLI is better then CFX as of now

hmm i'll take the monitor res into account

sure that 520 W will be enough? I was thinking i wud need 700w (sli/crossfire requirment)

my main dilemma is that sli/crossfire is a "if/whn required" soln and not "will buy X months later".
Thats why I'm wondering its worth to go 4 a lesser card for SLI capablity

btw i googled a bit about i5 4430 vs fx 8350
looks like i5 is only better in term of power consumption if so i'll pass
if not what did i miss?

if you want amd then here is my suggestion
fx 8350- 12000
Asus m5a97 evo r2.0 - 7500
G.Skill ripjawsX 1600 MHz 4 GB-2500
WD Blue 1 TB -4100
gtx 760 - 19000
Seasonic S12II 620W -5200
antec gx 700 -4000
Dell S2240L (8800)

Getting off from bed
SLI/Crossfire won't be good choice after 1-2 years of your current card usage. Or just save save money now and get a better GPU or do the SLI/Crossfire.
Harshil's config is good if you ain't going to overclock, just some tweaks may be needed.

i5-4430
Gigabyte B85m-D3h
Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz 4gb (add another same model later)
WD blue/Seagate Baracuda 1tb
Sapphire AMD HD 7950
Seasonic S12II 520W
NZXT Tempest 410 elite (case is your choice btw)
Dell S2240L

> an i5 consumes less power than FX 8350 and also gives few more fps. i5 is recommended when you don't want to overclock. Otherwise, FX 8350 is the best VFM processor.

Buddy Gigabyte B75M-D3H is meant for 3rd generation (LGA 1155 socket) and newer generation (4th gen) uses new socket LGA 1150, so you cant use this combination at all
so stick with harshil's suggetion either buy a B85 board or H87.

please elaborate on this

I assumed i will find a 7950 round 10~15 k in two yrs. That if put in crossfire (say 50% ovrall performance increase) shud see me through another year or so. am i wrong in thinking this?

I will hope to do a crossfire mayb 1.5 yrs later so i want the psu to be capable of crossfire. what wattage shud i need then?

also give me a short idea on what I need to do if I decide on ovrclocking in the future( again in 1-2 yrs)

I think a 7950 OC'ed will last enough for 3years [Because you can make do with low-mid settings] Also those generation games will looks very beautifull even at low settings [eg. Crysis3 -current gen , just image 4 years down the line]

If you want, you can downgrade to a 6300. [My choice of CPU] because even though 8 core optimization will take atleast 3years! Games will be coded/optimised properly to be GPU dependent rather than CPU dependent!

You can look at my thread with a very simillar build/request: *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-components-configurations/177601-gaming-rig-need-help.html

So here's what i recommend:

FX 6300 7500/-
Asus m5a99fx PRO r2.0 [If you want SLI/CFX] 11,500/-
or
Asus m5a97 EVO R2.0 - If dont want sli/cfs only OCing 7500/-
Sapphire 7950 3GB 24,500/- If dont want crossfire/sli
GTX 760 - 20k/- If you want SLI {AMD has many issues with Crossfire and i am pretty sure they wont optimise it for the 7 series]
Not sure about the PSU, use an online calculator [GS700/GS800 or an XFX 750W gaming one will do]
Case - Read online reviews some choices are Antec 300 /Antec GX700
Ram - 2*4gb 1600 Corsair Vengeance or Gskill RipjawsX 5400/-
CM Hyper 212 EVO fan 2000/-
WD blue 1 tb - 4000/-
Dell S2240L - 8500/-
----------------
Single card solution [Prefferd and recomended] - 64k [assumed 4k for case and 5k for seasonic s12ii 620w]
SLI- Aprrox 70k [Assumed 11k for case+psu]

Happy gaming :)

The issues with crossfire for a single screen with res. up to 2560x1600 have been resolved almost completely with the 13.8 and later catalyst drivers from AMD and it is butter smooth now.I personally am running xfire and have no issues at all. These improvements are for the 7 series amd cards mostly.Further drivers will be released by AMD to completely solve any left over problems.

does Asus B85-G (6700) support xfire
if it does how much for th one that doesn't
if not which i5-4--- mobo does (at what price)?

rijinpk1

Aspiring Novelist
it is available at 6k on flippy. sub 10k mobo from intel are not suitable for sli or crossfire as it can run on x4-x4 speed only reducing the graphic performance considerably.
