Fill PC buying questionnaire. At your budget you can't get all of the components you listed above, at least for next 1 year. :p

^^ Yup. We have to wait till the flood situation in the Thai region eases and everything returns to normality. :(

500 GB @ 4.2k. No way I am going to buy.

LOL!!!!
Now the prices are starting to go over the head , everyday there is an increase I think we are better at hanging on to whatever storage we have for sometime.

Yes, it will be good for anyone to make a stop gap arrangement for the HDDs (I think everyone have their old HDD) and wait for at least next 1 year before thinking of buying HDD again.

Jas, your rig is perfect, just one suggestion regarding the Graphics card. I think it is better to go with MSI HD 6950 2 GB Twin Frozr III @ 15.6K instead of spending 21K @ GTX 570.
The reasons are:-
1. Currently OP is gonna use 1366X768 resolution and even a HD 6950 is a superkill. OP is never gonna see any difference.
2. When he'll upgrade to Full HD, then also HD 6950 will be enough to play all titles plus Radeon 7000 series will be on the horizon. So I guess saving 5K is making some sense here.

^^ Q1, 2012.
If you can, then yes. At least it will bring down the current price of 6xxx series graphics cards.

most motherboard should have 1 legacy pata port. if its there, it'll support.

sorry but I can't spot any on that Z68A-GD55 (B3) board.
