go for Xperia E1 ... if you can ignore camera then Xperia E1 >>>>>>> Lumia 520/Nokia X/ i would rate it above lumia 525 as well due to large selection of apps and games.customization,tweaks,mods ..


it will get Android 4.4 kitkat officially and 512 mb ram will seem plenty with fast and snappy performance..

for those who don't know Android 4.4 reduces the amount of RAM usage significantly and is optimized Specially for phones having 512 mb Ram and the available free ram has been increased significantly allowing you to do general multitasking ( not heavy ) even on 512 mb ram devices smoothly which was not possible in android 4.3,4.2 and 4.1 that is why 1gb ram was recommended as minimum for them.. but with 4.4 , 512 mb ram is not a major problem anymore. its sufficient . read more here

some benchmark scores

antutu - 13,000 , Xperia M/L - 10k
Quadrant -5500 , Xperia M/L - 4200

Gpu Performance is same as Adreno 305 ( all high end games will run smooth as on screen performance is better than moto G , grand 2 , Htc one mini etc.. )

CPU Performance is better than Cortex A9( Better than Galaxy MEga 5.8 , and is not too far behind beating HTC one X, lg optimus 4x HD which are flagship phones of 2012 .. )

Smooth optimized UI

Finally 2014 marks the death of cortex A5 under 10k

P.s update - don't go for Nokia X,, lumia 520 was great but then there were no choices in android , now xperia E1 is there no need to make compromise on apps,customization with WP.. 525 is ok with wp 8.1 for those looking for a better camera or Galaxy S duos 2 with Led flash at 9k range..
But soon there is going to be a new Entry in 10k range from motorola Xt 1022and Lg L65

^Rish I don't think Xperia E1 will be ever updated to kitkat as their all budget phones.Anyway its a good phone for 7.5k But I think Lava 406Q is much better than this apart from brand.

it has been officially announced by sony that E1 will receive android 4.4 i provided the link in above post . even though it is budget model , but it was launched 5 months after kitkat was released

oh yes the local brands provide much better vfm .. my suggestion above was only for international branded ones. I am not aware about local branded mobiles as i don't follow them

Bro i copied that post from another thread where someone had a budget of 7k and i was only considering branded phones..

Local brands are of course much better value for money in terms of specs to price ratio .. so yeah Xolo 1010i is much better

Htc desire 310 is spoiled because of 512 mb ram . one can make a compromise at 7k but at 10-11k Nope hence its a bad choice..

Lg L70 is 13.5k bro way out of league for the 10k budget..

i recently updated the post that LG L65 and motorola Xt1022 are upcoming 10k phones and will probably remain the best phones in this budget for long time

actually, i am looking for a phone around 12k having good camera for shooting video and photos, great music, high end gaming, fast browsing & stylish look for my daughter being first phone. Considered L70, Desire 310, Sammy Core, Xolo 1010i & Lenovo Ideapad A-706. which one should I go? or any other? No Moto G pl.
Edit:- 4.5" screen size preferably.

Why no to Moto G? if its lack of SD card slot, simply get a sandisk dual pendrive or meenova.

instead look for lenovo S660 ..
I would suggest you to compare lenovo s660 , Lg L70 and Xolo 1010i side by side especially camera, screen personally .
Lg L70 is actually 13k. you have mentioned that you need a 4.5 inch screen.. But The resolution is quite low for 4.5 so it won't be that sharp .. you can look for Lg L65 .. it is 4.3 and carries much sharper screen/ppi and will be cheaper and apart from that it is exactly same as lg l70..

But first we need camera Reviews as if it does not have a better camera then there is no point in buying over moto G . l90 camera reviews are coming good so hopefully l70/l65 will also have a good one.. btw why not moto g ?

Lumia 630 would have been a perfect phone but nokia has ruined it with 512mb ram and no flash..

any Moto G real users, pl give feedback on camera, video shooting and music quality..

we can't as manufacturers don't disclose it in cheaper phones .. unless one uses some hardware detection app and finds out of every phone.. so the only way to compare is by clicking photos and comparing cameras personally that's why i said to check them in store

So, now A850 v/s S660 and A850 v/s s660 v/s Moto G....

lenovo a850 is 5.5 inches don't you think it will be too big for her ? ofcourse she can keep it in her hand bag/purse.. also cam on paper are weaker than s660 .. only actual comparison can tell which one is better..

I would pick S660 as the ppi is also just bare minimum on A850 , and battery backup would be very less due to large screen and less battery

between moto G and S660 sir the only reason we are looking at other options are because moto G camera sucks .. rest in every other department moto G is a very solid phone..

I would pick S660 , its much more premium looking and techradar have given a positive review on camera in their initial hands on..

... 512mb ram missed out really, but inclined towards HTC being premium brand and superb interface, look, style...
any other HTC phone similar to Desire 310 but with 1 GB ram... HTC top of mind hence asking...

A850 now out, with given clarity on big screen, it would be too large & pixel density sucks...

Well, now I am clear what to compare in shop ... S660 > L70 > Moto G > (HTC if any as asked above...pl reply)

unfortunately no .. desire 310 actually outside india comes with 1gb ram but they screwed up the indian version by giving it 512 mb ram otherwise this would have been best seller by now, even would have given some good competition to moto G for its design, camera but HTC decided differently . apart from that the next cheapest htc is Htc desire 500/501 which is 16k ..it's no point getting Old htc models as it contains a weaker chipset with cortex A5 same as galaxy core .. that's why core is not recommended..
