Stick with your phone if you cant spend 10k or so for something like Redmi Note 7S or 7 Pro. For something cheaper, Asus Max Pro M1 is great, has stock android as well. Even Mi A3 would be a decent choice for you as you are not used to 1080p panel.
Would get its bootloader unlocked this month and flash an OpenKirin rom, even if it means loosing VoLTE or camera "quality".
This time flipkart is official seller for note 7s/7 pro & amazon for Mi A3. If your note 6 pro is working fine then keep it for now as redmi 8 series will be launching later this month.

Why? Its camera is even better than note 7 pro & overall it is better than any mobile currently selling ~9-10k(excl discount/exchange).
720p screen is the reason why. Pro M1 goes for 7.5k and has a 1080p screen. Xiaomi never cared about the A series as a whole.
Well for those still using 720p screen phones,it should be alright(it is after all amoled so not like everything is lost).

Consider yourself lucky if you get even one of these in a sale. Chances of getting phone in flipkart sale is more because of various strict policies implemented by flipkart which reduced the "reseller" crowd there. For amazon sale, no chance of getting such phone without using browser script/addon which I don't recommend because of potential security issues. Someone said that chances of getting phone in a sale is more if ordered from safari browser on an apple device.
