Also, the SP Road guys keep telling me that the Prices of all computer items have increased. And minor fluctuation will be there everyday.

AMD zindabad then 4 budget gamers...

WRT the graphics card, I have finally decided on these 2 options: NVIDIA GTX 260 Core 216 or ATI Radeon 4870 1GB. Dunno if both are available in Bangalore. But, I am willing to wait till it arrives.
I have read some reviews on Techreport, AnandTech, ExtremeTech & others. This is what they say:
* it is not clear on which to choose as both are equally good
* both cards are good, but NVIDIA is a better option
for GTX 260 : It is Fast, good power efficiency, low noise. But Poor performance with AA modes above 4x.
for ATI 4870: Excellent AA performance, especially 8xAA. Poor idle power utilization, reference cooler could be better.

I have also read many more Heated-Discussions between the two cards. The final conclusion I got from all that was to buy the card wrt "which game supports which card better".
well wiser choice will be to spend it nehalem cos once nehalem comes it will be with newer socket,DDR3 RAM ..and lowest nehalem will cost about the price of highest quad core ....since u are spending so much now ...assuming nehalem launches in nov ..u will have a very strong system in about 3-4 months in same price..Also, the Nehalem/X58 launch dates of Nov 18th are haunting me to go for that.![]()
Even then, I am still in a confusion as to which one to go between the two. If I go for NVIDIA, i can't SLI. Will have to buy a newer m/b. If I go for ATI, I can crossfire but the P45 chipset will be a bottleneck. So Help me to decide between these 2 GRAPHICS cards. And you can point out if I said something wrong anywhere.![]()
Or an X38 is okay too
Like ABIT X38 QUAD GT @ 11k
^^^
I could find some,
Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 - 12k
Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 - 12.3k
MSI X48C Platinum - 13.8k
_
oh thats great ....thanks for sharing this info ...i thought they are all very costly ...but i guess buying MSI X48C platium is much better choice over over X38 mobo ...cos it supports both DDR2 and DDR3 and x48 chipset and all with a price of 13.8k ...i guess its ultimate gaming mobo ...for this price ...
can anyone tell me what will be the between these 2 setups
1)AMD phenom x49550+asus m3a78-em(mobo)+palit 4850+2GB ddr2 ????
2)Intel core2quad6600+MSI p45 chipset + palit 4850+2GB ddr2???
using only for gaming and multitasking 3d rendering---------- can anyone help?????![]()
if u are asking about gaming performance intel will be better ...and E8400/E8500 will be even better for gaming than core2Quad
*www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/04/11/amd_phenom_x4_9850_9750_and_9550_b3_cpus/7
and in general also C2Q will perform much better in almost anything u can think of its much better architecture..

k i just heard that future coming games building on the multi cores processing ---- and E8500 is the best proc for gaming right now but ---- the future games???
---- can u tell about the core2quads and phenom 9550/9750 --- but in some tests AMD beats INTEL ----but INTEL scores better
i m aiming on the budget gaming for good performance /// thus 9550 and 9750 are the TLB bug cleared processor and it does low heat and quiet ---- c2q6600 is also good ----- i am so confused so can u tell me ????
such games will come in about a years time ..and they will be very few ..initially..like may be farcry2 will support multi cores ..but i don't think they will perform like chalk and cheese with core 2 duo and core 2 quad .....E8400/E8500 is the best investment for gaming CPU if u want to use it for next 1-5 to 2 years...
intel core2quads gives u pinnacle of performance ..and i m not talking about Q6600 here ..Q9xxx series is simply superb
and what do u mean AMD beats INTEL ..but intel scores better ?? mostly in a benchmark if score is better it beats the other thing that has lower score..
ok i am not asking about Q9xxx series intel ----------> i know this proc is good and it is not comparable wit AMD phenom ----------> but can u tell me about the q6600 that is also 65nm architecture , AMD 9850 beats q6600 is it true ????

1) bad, very bad
2) goddie
[Offtopic]@ThreadStarter , Does Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP supports HDMI? afaik Dell E248WFP was availeble for 24-25k ....Ultrasharp 2408WFP is 40k i guess?[/offtopic]
if the monitor has 1080i that means it supports hdmi and blu ray
No not at all true, even the 9950B.E> OCed to 2.8GHz barely manages!such games will come in about a years time ..and they will be very few ..initially..like may be farcry2 will support multi cores ..but i don't think they will perform like chalk and cheese with core 2 duo and core 2 quad .....E8400/E8500 is the best investment for gaming CPU if u want to use it for next 1-5 to 2 years...
