avi file not playing

hi friends,
i just downloaded a movie using limewire, but on playing it in vlc it shows inside the screen "error- incompatible media player" visit divmovienow.com to update ur media player. But on visiting that site it asks for buying the software...
Is there any way out soo that i can watch the movie. Please help my 700mb file is at stake...

Make sure that the file you downloaded is originally an .avi file. Download GSpot and open the downloaded file from it. GSpot will then collect the file information and will show it in the program window. Post a screenshot of the GSpot window here.

When you're a pirate downloading from a torrent site, you gotta be prepared for these kinda things.

Or alternatively, click on the picture icon that shows in the formatting toolbar. Enter the URL of the image and click on OK. The code is automatically inserted for you. You need to have Java Script enabled in your browser for this to work.

^^No use of him checking any thread. The AVI file was actually a spyware. And BTW, he had downloaded it from a torrent site. :lol:
