IMo the 2gb more ram wont make much of a difference. Rather chack if u have a pci e x16 slot and get a 8600gt 256mb.

Think Zen.
How abt an external HD instead of a 4gig Flash drive?
You could get a Laptop HD+ Casing for under 3k i guess.

^^I agree with Pathik
Dont buy anything that is inferior to 8600GT, even if you are a casual gamer:)

5K? Get a laptop hdd + casing. Guess you can get it for 2k (100gB). Other 3K... hmm. gotta think.

My advice, don't even bother looking at nvidia 8400 "upgrade". Its not worth anything. Only useful if you just wanna haf a separate gfx card just for the heck of it.

Actually I am using Vista Home Premium..So I thought 8400GS with 4GB RAM will give boost to vista....What's price of 8600?
Thanks..

What onboard gfx does your system haf? Imho anything over 2GB won't give you HUGE boost in vista unless of corz you play heavy games or use software like photoshop and haf 10 images open.

Also if you haf one of the intel 945 and higher chipsets then don't bother upgrading to 8400. The difference hardly matters in vista performance.

My motherboard has Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 (Intel® GMA 3100) onboard graphics subsystem with Intel® Clear Video Technology.Does my mobo require good graphics card to run vista home premium smoothly?

Thanks..

For portability : Buy A Laptop HDD of around 160 GB and buy its USB casing...

But id recommend a Sata Hardisk 3.5" with casing cuz in this case you can use your hardisk as a primary hDD also if you choose to..
Keep the rest money for later....

If you want a GFX card than look for no other than 'Point Of View" 8600 GT,, don't get XFX that too from Rashi Peripherals .. it available at your budget but then you'd have to compromise on your Laptop HDD/Pendrive thing ;)

EDIT: You do not need a GFX card if you do not game.. GMA 3100 is more than enough for the visual effects under Windows Vista... :D

If you don't play games I'd advice you to not spend on gfx card. What you haf is more than enuf for vista. Save the money and when you become a real gamer buy something even better than 8600!
