The new guidelines have explicitly mentioned the action which can be taken after complain, otherwise the rule was always there.
2%. And DC or CC, doesn't matter.
All these uneducated shop keepers will care a damn when we indicate that they should not be charging anything additional for Card Purchases. This doesn't happen in major electronic stores out here like Bajaj, Croma, Reliance but happens invariably in any computer store. I have tough time bargaining on the %ge. It can be 2% or 3% not 1% for sure here. I can understand if someone is trying to buy a blank CD or DVD which may cost around Rs 20. But for electronic goods costing more than Rs 500 it doesn't look smart idea to charge the customer.

Can someone throw some light why only specific stores ask for additional %ge. I'm sure the bank guy is going to charge money to the shopkeeper whether it's electronic store or supermarket.

Paying extra against card payment Is wrong. You can get the shopkeeper's license cancelled if complained.

Credit card processing companies and banks do not process credit cards for free. It cost them 2 to 5% depending on volume of payments processed/commitment.

So when you pay by card, it cost them extra. So shopes have to set price so they won't make a lose even if customer pay by card. Bargain is different, he already selling product for less profit, it is agreement between you and the seller, they can ask more for credit card payment.

At the end rules like these are forcing every sellers to sell products at higher price to avoid such rules.

I believe you have got it wrong. While the shops are charged 2.5 -3.5 % the amount reflected in the bill should match the amount received from the customer. Its the charge that the shopkeepers incur to use the convenience of the cards provided by the banks, and thereby gain customers. there is nothing unfair here - Its upto the shopkeeper to choose whether or not to use cards, nobody's forcing him to.

k.. Congrats:)
i guess you havent got the product yet.then
1)Snapdeal is okay, but i have seen many complaints about them recently.
2)order might get cancelled due to pricing error.
3)Hope they deliver it to you and not to some other guy, because if they are careless to commit a mistake in pricing, then god knows if theyll send it to the right person.
4)Even if they deliver it to you, there is a chance that the item you receive may turn out to be defective.
5)Even if item is okay, then there is no guarantee that it will work properly.
