Ok guys, let me show you some light.

First
I've an unlimited budget does not mean you post the latest and priciest phone only. It means...read my usage and tell me anything that can do those things well enough.

Second
Having support of external sd/mmc card is highly important. I've a 32GB mmc card and I want to use it. No compromises here

Third
At least 2300mAh battery

Fourth and final
Recommend mobiles in these three price categories if you are too confused on that budget thingy...

^^ I said GS3 as u will get confirmed KLP update. Plus it has micro sd card support & 2100 mhz battery. kinda future proof. rest u decide by others comments.

@rhitwick - The real competitor[crusher] is N4 but it's not having card slot. So SP is good by all parameters mentioned by u.

Optimus G doesn't have a card slot :) Only 32GB Internal

SP is good but one problem - There is no rooting method currently for locked bootloader.

Since your usage includes photography, u might want to take a look at the camera samples of SP. Or even better, you can check it out at some store, maybe like Reliance Digital.

:sigh: thank you for pointing it out. rooting is important for me. I'm certainly going to root it as few apps that I use require root access. The only remaining option is SGS3 it seems.

For now, yes. But SGS4 is a better buy as it's much more future proof compared to the S3. And if you are okay with Xperia Z then it's great too as Adreno 320 supports OPEN GL 3.0 which will be put to use Android 4.3 onwards. The SGS4 Indian versions (Octa) doesn't support Open GL 3.0

For camera samples, I never believe wht you see on your phone screen is the perfect image as compared to when u upload it on ur PC.
So yes hands-on in a store might help you get the feel of the device but you would never be able to judge how good the camera of the phone is....
