Need a budget gaming PC - Here are my thoughts

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming only. Will be playing games like Dota 2, CS:GO, Crysis 3, Battlefield 4 (upcoming) and newer demanding games. I do not do any kind of photo editing/video encoding etc and will be using the pc only for gaming.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 22k +/- 1k (about $400)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Yes, but if it will go overboard on my budget I won't do it.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 that I already have.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 320 gb should be more than enough.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I have an old compaq pressario pc with a slow core 2 duo. Im planning to use its power supply unit and optical drive. I also have a monitor, keyboard and mouse. All i need is a processor, RAM, Motherboard and GPU.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: May-June

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I will be doing it but I can approach help if I need it.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Hyderabad but planning to buy some of the components from the US. Yes, will be buying from Amazon, tigerdirect etc.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
I was thinking of:
AMD FX 4300 (Quad core 3.8-4.0 GHz) (The 3rd Gen i3 is a bit better but this one is unlocked and open to overclocking.)
EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Superclocked 2 GB 192 Bit (Cannot find the 1 GB version) (Best card I could find in the $180 range)
Kingston Hyper X Black high performance Ram (2x4 GB) (Its quite cheap in amazon)

This leaves me $40-50 for the motherboard and the hard drive. Can you suggest me a good motherboard and a hard drive?

In may and june intel Haswell will be out and we dont know the prices now. And prices will change for the present components . So it is better to repost 2 weeks before buying

I dont think I will be able to afford that and after all its a gaming PC so the processor won't be a bottleneck (hopefully). But considering the present scenario? Is there a better CPU than the AMD FX 4300 for this price range? Also can you suggest a mobo and the hard drive?

Why don't you buy from a Indian online shop?? There is Mdcomputer.in and flipkart.com. Anyway, go for the WD blue 320gb to the Seagate baracuda 320gb which is available at 2.9-3k or 49.99 USD. AMD Motherboards, I do not know much about, wait for other members opinions.

The PSU wont be sufficient.. Usually OEM PSUs are rated at 300w at max.. you need to purchase a new PSU
If you are gonna purchase now,
id suggest
i3 3220 -7K
B75 Mobo- 4.1k
RAM- Corsair XMS3 4 GB - 1.5k
GPU - GTX 650 Ti 2GB (Depends upon price and availability) check MD computers,I think they have a 2 GB version in stock
CX430v2- Rs 2.5K
If you cant extend for PSU, get HD 7770 for Rs 7.5K
HDD WD Blue 320 GB - 2.8K or equivalent seagate.. your preference

Sounds ok. But which CPU do you suggest? The i3 or the AMD FX 4300? The AMD one is a little cheaper and can be overclocked.

@shiva I meant that I can buy from amazon etc since ill be going to the US in may-june. So if things are cheaper there I can get it from there. I really need to save where ever I can so I can scrape through a gaming keyboard in that price.

I5 3470 @ 11k
Gigabyte GAB75M @ 4k
Corsair Value 4 GB @ 1.5K
MSI HD 7770 @ 7k
You need to change ur PSU , get the Corsair CX430 V2 @ 2.3k . Imo Getting a quad core proc is better .

Pls dont buy from other countries since many brands do not offer international warranty

Oh 650ti boost will blow away hd 7770, but get the regular version, no need to waste 10$.
Msi 970a g46, is the best budget board.
Around 5.2k in india.

As for fx 4300 vs i3
I suggest i3

Step up to fx 6300 if you can.

If you are buying from US then try to get the AMD FX-6300 which is the perfect choice for CPU intensive applications and gaming (Gaming is now very much multi-threaded) and budget.

Guys im planning to go with AMD FX 6300 and the GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB. Can you suggest me a cheap motherboard for this combination? I want to save as much as possible on the mobo because I wont be upgrading this rig.

Be advised that FX 6300 will cost a bomb, especially the shipping part..
It should be better if you buy a i5 3550 or equivalent processor instead for 10k

I will only get the parts from the US if they are cheaper there. Btw isnt there a motherboard in the $60-80 range? How about something like this:

Will this be fine for FX 6300 and the nvidia card?
