Micromax is not going to be in the long run. If they maintain the same poor agenda about after sales. They will loose trust.

Dunno what had gotten into my mind, I had a budget of 20k and was confused between Xperia S, HTC One S (S3 version) & SGS2.
Along comes Canvas HD and I go totally gaga over it waiting for it's launch to be the first buyer!
Fk that now! Thanks to this thread!! XD

I just want to show you guys what micromax truly is, a cheap @$$ company with pathetic quality control.

Micromax........ micro features max headaches. i bought q4 6 months before. First the headphones stopped being detected. Then the memory card stopped being detected. Finally the charger also stopped being detected!!! :wah: I couldn't have done without charger so I took it to micromax care centre. They only repaired the charging problem. :banghead:

Ah...I kind of expected this type of thread to come up in sometime. I knew MMX is a bad @ss company, never purchased any products till date and thanks to this thread, I never will.

@ tkin, vickeybat: I'd suggest escalate this issue. Drop in a mail, separately, @ info[at]micromaxinfo[dot]com. Once, whatever they reply, you'll have a proof for your cause as you've shot in a mail at their customer service. After that, if the customer care cares to resolve the issue, it's ok, else, drop in a complaint at www[dot]core[dot]nic[dot]in, and I'm sure that the issue will be resolved. After getting a thrashing, the CC will automatically call you up to get it resolved.

Though, I have my reservations about these desi companies, I was thinking of the Canvas A116, and Galaxy Grand, MMX being the choice-for it's specs. Thanks, both of you, for this thread, I won't go the MMX way.

Broken In
Even I had similar experience with Micromax funbook when I got it for my kid, It had charging issues right from the beginning and used to discharge battery completely at 30%-40% levels. The low quality charger they provide did not even last a month and 4-5 months later even the USB charging stopped. Micromax had partnered with Nimbuzz to sell funbook accessories on their e-commerce website Ncarry which has also closed down now. I read somewhere that MMX was charging Rs 650 for that cheap quality charger.

Second surprise came when my kid cracked the screen dropping it on the floor, I spoke to their service center Salora International Ltd, at Bibevadi in Pune about cost of screen glass replacement which they quoted at Rs 3000 and a month to get it replaced. I did not even think of travelling that distance from my home to get it repaired. This company truly does not have anything in terms of quality, I got a used funbook from a friend which is luckily working better than previous one I had. At least lasts for around 5 hours on complete charge now let's see how long this one survives.

IMO Acer Iconia B1 marks entry of at least one credible option in the 8K range for 7 inch tablets, Micromax is surviving on aggressive marketing and flooding products with no guarantee of quality, a colleague from office I know also had a bad experience with a MMX mobile phone while following up with their service center, even though specs for Canvas A116 HD may look very good and lot of people are in fact planning to buy this phone you cannot be sure of the hardware under the hood and beyond whole external branding and packaging these cheap companies do, it's better to spend extra on well known brands and ensure peace of mind.

I read some comments on Canvas A116 HD phone hands on review article which mentioned that If most well known companies are churning out phones and tablets at breakneck speed, that too in an expensive price range what's wrong in investing on a device with similar specs and low cost even in case it does not last long and anyways the next upgrade would be available by then. In case you don't feel cheated for problems encountered after buying the product one can very well go by this strategy of upgrading phones and tablets.
