Hello Guys,

My friend is planning to buy an High End Computer and his budget is near about 50K (Including UPS, Monitor etc.). Please suggest some configuration under this budget.

as you mentioned 50k & high end, primary use gonna be gaming.

Processor: Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz: 5.1k
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H: 5.5k
Ram: Transcend 2 X 2Gb DDR3-1333Mhz C9: 4.4k
Hard Disk: Western Digital 500Gb Caviar Blue: 2.4k
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 @ 15.8k
Optical Drives: LG 22X SATA DVD-RW: 1.1k
PSU: Corsair VX450W: 3.9k
Cabinet: NZXT Gamma: 1.8k
Monitor: Benq G2220HD 22” / Dell ST2210 21.5": Rs. 8k/8.9k
Keyboard Mouse: your choice.
UPS: APC BR 650VA: Rs. 2.9k

Total @ 50.9k if Benq considered as monitor. Keyboard-Mouse extra. Total cost should be below 52k Logitech Desktop keyboard mouse set is considered. to reduce cost, Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 @ 9.8k maybe considered.

go for this that config will probably go boom boom ... :

1.AMD Athlon II x4 630 ( 5k )
2.MSI 785G E-51 mobo ( 4.5k )
3.G-Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL 4GB ram ( 6k )
4.Sapphire HD 5850 ( 15.5k )
5.Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB ( 2.5k )
6.Lite-on / LG / Sony optical drive ( 1k )
7.Cooler Master Extreme Power 650w ( 4k )
8.Nzxt M59 / Antec 300 without PSU ( 3.5k )
9.benQ G2220HD 22” / Dell ST2210 21.5" ( 8.5k )
10.Keyboard and mouse : logitech combo ( 0.5k )
11.Cpu cooler : Cooler Master Tx2 ( 1.5k )
12.UPS 650va your choice ( 2.5k )

Total comes to about : 55k - discount = 52k approx...... you can cut down on your screen size get a 19" Full HD screen and save on that....

also @ sam a 450w psu is not enough ... the card manufacturer states a minimum 500w psu ... so it wont even run

but on the other hand, CM Extreme Power is faulty & most digitians recommend to skip it. VX450W should run the card. its not that power hungry. also i think it is for non 80+ certified PSUs. still to be safe a Corsair VX550W looks another choice but at a added premium of 1.3k.

let OP reply first what his friends needs the PC for.

for the psu... get a Corsair 600W (for better future proofing in mind) .. :) (cant comment more on AMD based rigs as its not my flavor)...lol.. :p

@Noas
The Cooler Master Extreme series PSU's are very problematic and faulty, so better let him go with a corsair HX620 (it will provide better future-proofing)....

hahahaha , any ways I wonder why people are for it even after repeated warnings of the same, many us including me suffered its consequences.

i myself have no idea. i always advice peoples here not to purchase CM Extreme Power & in the end they end up buying one. well looks like till they not get a good taste of Extreme Power they not gonna understand anything.

Man, @ 50k budget, AMD is the best solution. Go with Sam's suggestion. And at Video editing AMD is also very good (may be not as good as Core i7 but better than most of the Core 2 Quad series processors).
In Video encoding obviously the extra L3 cache present in Phenom II series processors will help. So for this extend your budget a little (say 1.5k) and go for a Phenom II 925 @ 6.5 - 6.7k.
for the time being, drop the CPU cooler and go for APC 600W UPS @ 1.9k

woops. the config i gave is for gaming mainly. video editing wil need changes. well Cilus already replied what needs to be changed. change the proccy, get a lower power video card & the PC ready for video editing cum gaming.

& yes if he doubts AMD proccy got heat problem, its long gone & the cooler on Phenom II X4 965BE far superior to all other stock coolers. far far better than Intel's vanilla :glass-grin: coolers (exception of i7 980X.)

for video editing get a gpu with higher memory as you will be buffering your ram fully...

also guys if cooler master makes such **** PSU's why do people buy them? personally i like the corsair series but nothing's wrong with cooler master

---------- Post added at 09:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:38 AM ----------

also sam the rig you suggested the minimum wattage was 340w ... the corsair 450 can do max 360w under load so he needs atleast 550 / 620....

And non-knowledgeable vendors recommend it highly. Seriously, I have seen many guys here. They have threads open for 5-6 pages, at the end. They go buy a CM.E series PSU. Makes us look like idiots.

Cooler Master's other series of PSU's are good but that extreme series should be taken away from the market .....Even i was about to take that PSU but later saw on some other forum about how bad it was and then i settled for a CM Silent Pro and i am happy with it...
Corsair's PSU's are much better though.....

i think Sid already gave the answer.

people will buy anything if its under there budget.....

+1. that the point. ppls buy what they have under their budget & many ppls think "oh its Cooler Master. its gonna be good". fit a GTX260 to a Extreme Power & both go BOOM.
