Can you hear it..??
Hi guys,

One of my friend wants to buy a touchscreen mobile. The budget is 10k

The priorities are Touch Screen, An average Camera, Good Audio, Bluetooth and similar features. Colour should be black and the set should be slim. We were looking at the LG Cookie model and wish to hear your inputs on the same. Heard there is a Samsung Star model too?

Can you suggest me the phone to go for and if there is any other better model. And as said the budget is 10k.

LG Cookie's UI looks good in ads but in reality it's not that good. same is the case with Samsung Star. Increase budget and get 5800XM for 13.5k.

Inside 10k, it's better to leave touch aside.

Like Nokia 5320 XM or SE W580i.

That looks good. And yes, Cookie is not feature rich.Well, do you know from where I can buy this cheap, may be for around 13k (with proper billing) from Mumbai?

^ corby is lower end touch screen ... lacks a few essentials like the qwerty keypad (on screen) etc etc ... If I were you, this would be my priority, budget being the deciding factor.

1 5800
2 star wifi
3 cookie/star ( i would go for star anyday)
4 corby

Corby is specifically design for Social networking lovers. It offers very less for others. And Star is a better package when compared to Corby and Nokia 5800XM is lot lot better package.

Offcourse I agree Nokia 5800 & Star 3G were superior but Corby isn't that bad especially it is cheaper.

^^ am not saying that it's bad. It's just that it is targeted at specific audience. With no 3G, no accelerometer, very basic 2 mp camera.

Also note that both these phones won't come with 3.5mm jack and you either need to buy adaptor or stick to crappy bundled earphones.

Even a Nokia N73M for 11k change is lot lot better option, isn't it?

@ desibond ... i do understand that corby is more for socail networking and stuff , but with the kind of data plans and speeds that you get in india, if u seriously need to use ur fone for social networking, wifi would be a very big plus ...

Check in Univercell. It's 13,365 there.

Desiibond Is there a store here in Mumbai? I checked their website and they don't have a store in Mumbai.?Or any of you know from where we can get Nokia5800XM at minimum rates in Mumbai? *www.sherv.net/cm/emo/simpsons/homer-thinking.gif

I haven't seen any Univercell outlet here in Mumbai. At Nokia priority the price of Nokia 5800XM is Rs.14.8K. You can get it at a good rate at Alfa, Vile Parle.

Please please don't go for rokr E6. worst phone for typing messages. The tiny qwerty, lack of third party apps, lack of 3G/wi-fi are big NO-NO. samsung star and LG cookie are much better.
