EXPLORING!!!!!
Hi guys....M planning to upgrade my exisitng CRT Samsung 17" to a new LCD...Basically i am a 3d visualiser and work heavily with Graphics & 3D...and my recent upgrade includes AMD P2 920 & Gigabyte Ga-MA78GM & 6gbddr2.... now m a little tight on the budget for a new monitor (max 10k)...so kindly help me decide a good LCD Monitor....After going through the forum, i have shortlisted the Benq g2200HD, Samsung 2233sw and the AOC F22...now both the AOC & benq r priced abt 1.5 k lower than the Samsung 2233sw....Now i would like to know whether is the samsung really worth the extra 1.5k and why??? or is it better 2 stick to either the AOC or the Benq...cuz m a little concerned abt the after-sales too since Samsung is been around for long compared to the other 2. BTW the AOC photoframe design has really captured my mind...so also the bezel finish of the samsung 2233...KINDLY ASSIST...Thanx in advance...

Thanx buddy...that was really "QUICK'...BTW how abt AOC....bcoz the BENQ aftersales service really worries me as its sort of unheard of...

No pain....No gain
I am using AOC 416V 24" for over a year n a half......... it's a damn good monitor.
As for after sale service, had some problem with the logic circuit a month back...........got a replacement monitor (brand new) within a week.
Had to register the complain with them n the technician came within two hour and since they didn't had the 24" in stock, so it had to be shipped from bangalore. That's the reason it took a week or else I would had got the replacement the very next day. Didn't have to spend a penny on the replacement and even got the option to get another 24" monitor if I was not satisfied with the replacement piece.
Btw, AOC has three years on-site warranty.

If desibond says samsung. Then samsung it is.
But you better take a look at all three monitors if possible ( i know its too hard to get preview of monitor living in india)
i haven't seen both the monitors. but benq has got much reviews whereas samsung only one and in that one review it beats benq.

Here's the real deal

And good review for e2200HD (includes pictures of viewing angles)

I M A *STAR*
^^Seems like u r a fan of desiibond.
And the reason for that, that there r not too many reviews of 2233SW is that it is a newer model, compared to Benq E2200HD IMO. I owe 2233 and I can say it rocks.

Edit: And I think u r worrying for that backlight bleeding problem, don't worry, I never experienced any backlight bleeding in it. And even if its there, its hard to notice it.

See if money is the consideration then you should settle down with either BEnQ or AOC.
If you are worried about service then FYI all the LCD panels come with a 3 yr onsite warranty.
Samsung service stations are almost there in every city and there is no doubt about their quick and good service.
BenQ service centers are handled in India by Neoteric which is also present in most of the cities in India. You can check neoteric's website for service details. I've a very good experience with Neoteric people. So, going for BenQ won't disappoint you. While i was researching for my LCD panel i talked with one of the Neoteric Service Center head and he told me that BenQ has got 100% replacement warranty against any defect found in LCD. So i think its definitely an advantage.
Now, AOC is no doubt the best monitor if you consider the looks. Its service is taken care by Compuage if I'm not wrong. AOC is spreading its wings in India and they've lauched their Office in India long time back. I'm personally using F22 and i must tell you that it has got amazing picture quality and excellent performance.
Before buying F22 i was using LG's 22" screen and specs wise that was much ahead of any Samsung/Benq/Dell model at that time (I bought that an year ago). But, since LG is out of your consideration so you can leave it.
IMO you can go with BenQ E220HD or G2220HD or AOC F22 whichever suits you.

Always always pick brand that has it's own line of service centres. That way, you get quality support.

Note: h/w support outsourcing sucks big time.

Support outsourcing doesn't means that you won't get the quality support. Most of the Brands don't have their own line of service centers in India but they always provide quality and timely support.

I clearly saw the difference between in-house customer care (sony, LG, Samsung, HP) and third party customer care (Nokia-HCL or Apple-HCL or Liteon-some bullshit).

Problem is that not all the support trainings are pushed to the third party vendors. And the personnel in most cases aren't qualified enough.

Then people should stop buying Gigabyte, ASUS, Apple etc brands in India.
Anyways, it could lead to an endless debate. I think it depends on one's experience. I've got a pretty good experience with Neoteric. They gave me the replacement of my 750 GB LaCie External HDD, even though i was not fulfilling their service criteria.

Dell 2209WA. Its E-IPS and much better colour reproduction and wide viewing angle than all TN panel monitors! And Dell after sales service rocks!
