Download Speed Difference Problem...Plz Hlp...!!!

I'm facing a strange prblm.....

FIRST PROBLEM :
When I download ny file frm Rapidshare using Chrome I get 25KBps as avg speed. But when I try to download the same file using Firefox I hardly get 15KBps.

SECOND PROBLEM :
I use IDM as my download manager. I get 32KBps as a avg speed in IDM. But when I try to download ny file from Rapidshare or ny file sharing sites using IDM i get 6KBps avg.


Plz hlp me. I thought it may b a ISP prblm. But i get gud speed in Chrome. So it cannt b a ISP prblm. Wat cud b the prblm here???

I optimized my connctn using SG Speed Optimizer in Optimized Mode. And used a TCP/IP patcher to set the half-open ports value to 200.

I scannd my PC with BitDefender Onl9 scanner. No virus is thr. I monitored my running process, I cudn't find ny suspicious activities thr.

I use Windows XP, with Quick Heal Total Security.

There is problem with the inbuilt firefox downloader. Even I get 10 KBps inspite of 18KBps. Better use Chrome or IDM to download. BTW you can try to optimize firefox with TCP/IP Optimizer or Tune Up Utilities.

If you have a free account then the download speed is bound to decrease as Rapidshare doesn't support multiple downloading instances at the same time for free account. But you can try one thing. Open IDM, click on Options >> Connections and increase the no. of connections to 16 and enter your connection speed.

Ya i hv set no of connections to 16 in IDM. When I dwnld ny file (except ny file sharing sites) using IDM I get 32KBps as a avg speed. But when I use IDM to download ny file frm rapidshare (or ny file sharing sites) even one file @ a tyme I get 6KBps...
