hi everyone
I want to ship a cellphone from Panipat(Haryana) to Kolkatta
I went to DTDC couries service and they told me that they'll not ship so far in kolkata as airport authorities will not allow to ship battery (danger:explosive in nature) then i went to bluedart n they told that they'll charge 550/- + 10% service tax (Now that's 2 much)and they'll mention each and everything.
Then i went to blazeflash and they told that they'll charge near 100/- but no guarantee as user have to send on it's own risk.
After that i went to On-Dot courier and they told me that it'll cost around 200/- and they'll ship it by hand and will take the guarantee(I don't trust this company).
So any advice on how to ship cellphones as the companies nowadays don't accept cellphone shipments.

If i'll tell them that's it's cellphone then they'll send it by mentioning all items(batt+phone+charg..etc.) differently and it'll be easy for the buyer and they'll take the guarantee/responsibilty for the delivery as i've heard that parcels are lost or stolen in between shipments..or they take out parts during shipments and moreover the scanning machines at airports detects the battery which is not allowed to be shipped

Dont take risk of not telling them about cell phone, coz later i think they scan the packages. I recently sold my camera and mobile and I sent them both by Gati, these people accept electronics without a nod.

Well, then DONT send the battery, simple.. :) as it is there is a higher possibility of getting ur parcel stolen if u mention it tat u are sending cellfone rather than jus telling them tat they are CDs.. get the point dude.. this is India.. :) also, u are not gonna get any special treatment if u mention cellfone or not.. :)

if i'll mention them cellphone they've a diff.procedure in which they'll write down each part and will ship them and if it's lost in btw then they'll pay back for that..
But this is applicable for road transportation and for nearby places

Dear bro, u not getting the point... (i totally understand ur point of view)... Wt im saying is..if u wanna get ur goods delivered to the destination, u shud ALWAYS never mention wats inside the packing,

Coz, by jus mentioning that the packing contains a mere pack of CDs, ur shipment will be treated in the same way as other parcels are treated.. :)

I myself hv parcelled 12-13K of gold and other precious items via DTDC courier telling them its jus pack of CDs or sum computer equipment.. :)

I understand ur confusion and ur hesitation in declaring those items, but by explicitly declaring wat u are gonna send in the parcel, there will be a much higher risk of ur parcel being misplaced rather than mentioning it as a common item like a pack of CDs.. :)

Gold is a different material. Never send electronic stuffs without telling the courier guys. Don't believe me? Try once. Once I tried to send a MP3 player using DTDC telling them that it was bunch of CDs and the result turned out to be pretty bad. Fortunately I managed to recover my item. Instead try Indian post office. The send stuffs by rail, so no scanning. I sent a phone once via Indian Post Office.

My uncle sent me a Thomson 5 in 1 some years back.. it has not yet reached me..
When I gave a complaint to the local authorities, some officer came and verified my area post office and closed the complaint tellin that the theft did not take place in this post office...:evil:

i went to DHL (chandigarh) and they told that they'll ship it without any hassles (they'll note and pack the items themselves)and will send it by mentioning each and evryitem which is checked at evry checkpt.they've during the shipment course..
n moreover they'll cover the cost if item is misplaced or lost...
i've asked them for the phones near 15K then they told me that it'll go as a 10Kg box shipment and i've to fill a special form mentioning each and evry detail of the phone which is a very long procedure and will cost more..

WOW!! postman got a brand new thomson tv free of cost..
