Back to school!!
Won't recommend GTX280 when GTX285 and HD4870 are available. :)
But GTX285 needs SLI, and GTX280 beats HD4870 hands down, heck GTX260 gives HD4870 a tough time, and HD4870x2 needs Crossfire. GTX280 SSC in India costs a lot, around 35k probably.

Best option now is GTX260 C216 or HD4870.

Hows the EVGA GTX280 SSC Edition performs?
Just blows all away.(Bad news is GTX280 price has seriously fallen in US but in India its pathetic, mostly due to the masses believing that nVidia is always superior, I went to a shop once and the shopkeeper told a customer to get HD4850, he denied and asked for 8600GT although he had the budget).

@Psychosocial: I’ve heard great things about the Yamaha Pacifica 012 and it was the one I would have taken if I hadn’t gone for the Ibanez. Kustom Sound is the local amp make right?

Awesome stuff ionicsachin!

I have an entry-level Ibanez GRG170DX. I’m a hobbyist and I keep fooling around with it as whenever I can. I have a Boss DS1 and it’s so nice! The Roland Cube 15X amp has a decent metal distortion set too.

What I need now (as I've been told) are better set of cables, a good guitar strap, smaller picks :p and a better sense of timing....

Yeah 350EX is too good......but had to pay some 2k extra for Steve Vai custom vine inlay in place of normal fret dots....

If you are beginner then try using medium gauge picks, and try Marshall MG15CD amp...its really a steal at 4.5k
