@rajkumar_pb

thank you mate.

I was also considering a Dell Studio XPS desktop. Its a steal at 80k(if you got a friend in working dell u may get 10-15% discount) But they did not have an option of 4870 1GB and the guy I spoke to in sales told me that 4850 512MB should be more than enough for me.
here's the link

Guys here is the quoted price for the cards
XFX 9500GT 512MB DDR2 - 3.5k
XFX 8600GT 512MB DDR3 - 3.6k
MSI N9500GT 512MB DDR2 - 3.1k

Now guys plz tell me which one to pick, among these three...
And also plz tell me whether a 8600GT 512MB DDR3 can beat a 9500GT 512MB DDR2 one.. If so then at what margin it beats.

Core i7 920,Gigabyte EX58-DS4,OCZ 3X1GB PC10666 :shock::shock: triple channel DDR3, Palit HD Radeon 4870 1GB, CM690, CM Realpower 700W,BenQ 22"

Does a DDR3 RAM comes at that speed???? If so, then you're lucky to buy it.:grin:(it was a typo, right?)

just divide the Number after PC by 8 and u will get ur frequency.
Example :
PC3200 --> 3200/8 = 400 Mhz RAM
PC10666 --> 10666/8 = 1333 Mhz RAM.

Bought a new Onida Oxygen 350 29" CRT TV. Rs. 13000. 3000 less than a Sony Wega. Picture quality is good. Surround effects are also not bad. Decent bang for the buck. Supports component video i/p. Supports a resoution of 640x480 (Win XP VGA mode only).
Racedriver GRID on a 29" screen absolutely wonderful. Similarly Doom3. good detailing but pixellated at a distance of 1.5m (max allowed by the s-video to component video cable from my pc).
