- AR Canvas : Last year, Samsung discontinued Bixby Vision’s AR features such as Places, Makeup, Home Decor and others. However, Samsung has now brought back some of these features with a brand new app dubbed AR Canvas. The new app allows users to utilise their creativity and decorate spaces around them with digital AR elements such as 3D text, 2D images, GIFs, and more. The AR content added by the user to the space is anchored in place for 30 days. This allows them to revisit their work and make changes if necessary. All you have to do is launch the AR Canvas app, point your phone’s camera at the spot you’ve added an AR element to, and then tweak it to your heart’s content. In order to add AR elements to your IRL surroundings, download the AR Canvas app via Samsung’s app store or from the Google Play Store and give the app all the necessary permissions including location, camera, microphone, and storage. Tap on the ‘+’ icon at the bottom right of the screen to create a new AR scene. This will open up the Scene Editor within the app that gives users a bunch of tools to add AR elements to their surroundings. The app is a good way to add some fun elements to your regular surroundings, be it for social media posts, or simply to allow your children to try their hand at creating a unique space. There’s not a lot more you can do with the app apart from what we’ve mentioned at the moment, but the company could keep adding more features to make the functionality more diverse.
