Yahoo messenger help!!!

Yahoo messenger 9 beta doesn't work properly. In fact it never works. Whenever i click any button it crashes. Even when i try to report a bug it crashes. Is anyone else also facing same problem.

Actually BETA does not always work properly and that's why it is named BETA
BTW it is working fine in my pc on XP but it does hang on Vista. That's why I use YM for Vista there.
Please let us know which OS are u using ?

use 8 for now,i too had problems with that 9.0 BETA

i use xp pro sp2. But i have had some problems with older versions as well. whenever i clicked sign in in version 8 the crashed.

Then you have some problem with Yahoo! products in your PC. Try Pidgin.

Isn't that more of a "workaround" rather than a solution??

Could you maybe try removing ALL traces of Yahoo Messenger from your PC(including registry) and then download/reinstall a stable version of Yahoo messenger(non BETA)?

do you have a firewall installed ??

it seems some kind of firewall problem to me...see if when you disable the firewall and then try signing in..does it crash now...

Did it but now it gives me an error. it says DrWatson Postmortem Debugger encountered a problem.
