XP sp2 prb

I have installed XP installed on my machine with SP2 instaled, Earlier it used to block pop-ups when i visit web pages tht displayed them,Now from few days it is not blocking pop-ups, though i have set options to block pop-ups

Any way to solve this problem ?

The sp2 firewall sucks..., it blocks only outgoing traffic, not incoming...

Get zonealarm

Both are freewares and better than sp2 firewall.

First off go to Tools --->Pop UP Blocker --->Pop UP Blocker Settings.

Now see if any websites are added here on the expections list, if yes, remove them.
Next put a tick mark on the Show Information Bar when a POP UP is blocked.

Next on the filter level, change it to high.

This should work. If this does not work out. Do the following , go to the Tools Menu ---> Internet Options ---> Privacy tab , here put a tick on the POP UP BLOCKER section on (Block POP UPS) .

You could try reinstalling IE if it keeps wanting to override your pop-up settings, or you could get the Google Toolbar and use its pop-up blocker or use dedicated software like Popup stopper or PopUpCop. Alternative if you have these software installed, you could check their settings to see if they interfere with IE's built in blocker.

I agree!!
Download Zonelabs Firewall. I'm using it for months and can bet it is the best, or at least the best i've used.
