Xp problem

Broken In
Am in the admin in the xp ....when ever i put a password and restart it goes straight to the desktop without asking the pass...please help

Go to start => run and type control userpasswords2. If the "users must enter an user name and password" box is unticked retick it

P.S : From next time around, post in the correct section.

OP logs in after entering his password -> OP commands a restart -> computer restarts, but this time it does not ask for a password and goes straight to OP's account's desktop.

@OP; not related to your problem, but why are you still sticking to XP?

I also had windows xp till last month. The computer crashed and had to reinstall. Been using xp for 12years. Started using 7 only this month.

Moreover Support for Windows XP is ending by April 8, 2014.
Better to switch in Advance.

OT : What does end of support really imply? Does it mean that Microsoft won't longer provide any more security updates pr bug fixes through Windows Update? Or does it include something else also?
PS : I have not used XP since 2007! Neither do I encourage anyone using it too.
