writing mp4 files to DVD so that it can play in player

Guys

i want to write few mp4 files in to DVD and same should be worked on DVD player.

so i done the following steps

1: Downloaded DVDflick
2: imported files in sequent order
3: burn the DVD
4: And tried to play from media player and it got worked

This DVD was for my parents , so i send them via courier and but unfortunately they are saying DVD is not playing in the player.

while i burned the DVD , i had selected NTSC , is that the reason..?

suggest some ways to work it out.

Could be, if their dvd player doesn't support it . For indian dvd players I think should be PAL.

Its about the codec and/or format support by the dvd player. Probably, it can't decode h264 codec.

Better to get an all media player or recent dvd players which support newer codecs as well.

which model is the DVD? and how old?

I suggest to burn them as DVD Video (i.e .VOB files) and it will play flawlessly
also keep the resolution as 480p
