Right off the assembly line
Hi one and all
a few monts ago me and my friend Kiran created an winrar archive. we used winrar. we set a password and sealed it off. the file contains a lot of wall papers and a few pictures taken on a digicam.

we want to open it now but we dont seem to remember the password. we tried all the names we could have used and at last due to desperation tried the advanced archive password retriver. the only thing we know is the string is 11 digits long. now to crack such a long string the program says it needs over a year

is there any other way to crack it??

some one told me to open it in an editor and remove the special character that represents the password. the problem is that i dont understand the symbols the hex editor shows

can any one help

Bevin & Kiran

Coming back to life ..
Hmm... If your friends have computers you can share the file and try the password within a range on each system .. This will make the password finding faster as more system will find it concurrently ...

Waise are you sure it only contains Digits and not alphanumeric ..?

You can also do one more thing ..
Create a copy of that archive and then open it with WinRar .. Delete all but one file from it ... Save the archive .. and upload it to any server .. (Rapidshare.de can be one) .. Here more people can download it and try to crack the password ..

What say ..?
