WINDOWS XP UPDATE UNSUCCESSFUL!!!!

Hi!

i'm using win xp with sp2 installed.
few days after an update i when i tried 2 install it it didn't installed instead every time win asks me 2 install it, i aloows but it always show that da installation was unsuccesful.

Plz tell me how 2 get rid of it?

Also, i've taken a screen shot but can't understand how 2 post it, plz help in this case too.

Ok it seems u have win update ON !!
First,I wud advice ya to turn it OFF first coz its irritating to have an update popup. In fact I have all th updates turned OFF for all softwares. Neway its upto ya!
2nd, Goto microsoft update site and it will automatically search for new updates corresponding to ur system and install them for ya!
If u have a 24/7 net connection, then Njoy and update everything ->ur system, office Xp etc.
And for the update that doesn't install from the update site, download it and then install it ! It might happen that the update file is corrupt!

have tried that in safe mode?? & try to install it in safe mode from a direct download...

u can get it here ... & read that artical carefully try the command line installetion stapes told there.... might work out....

saurav i had enabled da auto - update but it usnt update from last few days.

i'll try ur cure tomorrow, gimme sum time 2 try it.
