Windows XP Re-Installation Problem

Dear Forum,

I have P4. Due to virus problem, I tried formatting the drive C: and re-installing the window. But there, I encountered another problem (may be RAM problem), my computer goes hang, sometimee during Formatting or sometimes during windows installing screen.

I wanna know, is there any procedure that i take out my HDD and fit it another PC and and reinstall window...? is it possible ?

Dont do that.. as you may encounter driver problem later. try checking u r memory by memtest or any other third party software..

if still problem persists scan hard disk for errors.. use some bootable cd and do the test.

can be tried. as already said , there may be minor driver issues. But IMO , can be tried

If you have so much problems with Xp.

First install windows 98 and then install XP , sometimes this solves the issue.

try refitting your ram properly..clean your cabinet..refit hdd cables and as you said its virus,delete all partitions and do clean install

DONT INSTALL win 98,just waste of time..might cause other problems
