Windows Search 4.0 Preview Build Available at Microsoft Connect and Download Center

Microsoft is going to make Windows Search 4.0 Preview publicly available via Microsoft Download Center. The customers who participates in the TAP program, can also download it via Microsoft Connect.

Windows Search 4.0 is the newest version of desktop search for Windows and introduces several improvements that make search even better in Windows Vista:

• Fixed majority of reported Bugs
• Improved performance upto 33%
• New features included
• A few other things which are confidential and can't be disclosed at the moment

@conqueror, I am using windows desktop search 3.1 since last few weeks with windows XP and it works very well for me, very useful tool IMO.
I haven't used google desktop search, so can't comment on it.
